Chanel & Les Métiers d´Art: Paris-Salzburg

The last Métiers d´Art fashion show organized by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel took place at the palace Schloss Leopoldskron at the austrian city.

The Métiers D´Art collections take place, since 2002, once a year and it´s so special because all the clothes are 100% hand-made. Karl wants to show the Savoir Faire of la maison and the expertise of the craftsmen working in Chanel.

Why Austria? It is said that Coco Chanel fall in love of that country. She adored the mountains, its nature and the outdoors. But she also enjoyed with the cultural movement which took place there in the 20´s and the high society. What´s more, Coco enjoyed going to Saint Moritz to sky. And there he met Hubert von Pantz, the director of the exclusive Mittersill Hotel,, with whom she has an affaire during two years.

The collection is exquisite. The Alpine-style that Lagerfeld recreates carry on with the legacy of Coco, because she found the inspiration for one of her most enduring designs in a four-pocket jacket worn by the ift operator that worked at the Mittesill when she came back at the 50´s. "It was the moment to show off the origins of the Chanel jacket", said Lagerfeld.

The origins of the Chanel´s jacket

Lagerfeld has revived Tyrolean elements like an ivory cardigan in wool, edelweiss embroidery onto suede leggings, capelike jackets or ribbons transformed in gran ruffles as worn by the Auustrian-Hungarian aristocrats. As the designer said: "I like the spirit of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire".

But there aren´t any Pink total looks. Black, white, brown and green are the colors that
No dresses or skirts, but I´ve found two outfits that has some Pink stuff. So let´s have a look on them.

The blue pullover has a floral embroidery and some of the flowers are Pink. The socks match with the pullover

The capelike jacket is bedecked with Pink, white and green flowers

The red jacket is matched with a Pink t-shirt

I adore that collection, it invites you to wait for the next winter with open arms. What´s more, I have a Tyrolean-style jaket that my mom bougth me at Viena and I´m going to wear it this winter!!!

What do you think about it?
